The magazine Community in the Diaspora held its 2022 fundraising cookout picnic. The picnic was a success, bringing Sierra Leoneans from all over to grace such an outstanding event. As always, they have free food and drinks with the purchase of a T-shirt. The cost of the t-shirt was very reasonable, so everyone could come out in support of their country.
This event always falls on the same date as the American Independence Day holiday, which makes it easier for people to get themselves ready for the event. It would be remiss of me not to introduce the cultural part of this event. The East End Paddle, which is a cultural part of this wonderful event, will come out to perform for the attendees. This gets people reminiscing about when they were in Sierra Leone, with everyone having different ways of remembering the good old days.
